Parent Teacher Fund Raising Ideas
PTA's and PTO's spend a large amount of time fundraising. These parent and teacher groups are often raising money for field trips, educational programs, sporting events, new playgrounds, sports fields, and various other new projects and initiatives. At World's Finest® Chocolate, we have seen great success with PTA/PTO fundraiser ideas utilizing our world famous chocolate bars. Below we have outlined a few tips to help guide your PTA candy fundraising idea from concept to completion.
|
Planning Your Parent Teacher Fundraiser
Develop a start and end date of your fundraising idea. The most successful chocolate fundraisers we have seen last from two to four weeks. Participation and sales tend to dwindle if your fundraiser lasts much longer than this. Be sure to develop a realistic dollar amount you plan on raising before the start of the fundraiser. In addition, sit down with your parent teacher group to finalize: |

Executing Your Parent Teacher Fundraiser
Once your team has a plan, it is time to set up shop and begin selling. Going door to door and selling to friends and family in the community is often the most common fundraising technique, but you are only limited by your imagination. You can set up a table in the school hallway, at sporting events, or at special school events to attract parents and visitors to purchase your chocolate bars. You can even personalize you chocolate bar to include your group's name, reason for fundraising and an image or logo of your group to help promote the fundraising event.
Safe Selling Tips!
Always keep safety the top priority of every fundraising campaign. Make sure your participants know and follow these safety practices: |
- Sell in the company of others- use the buddy system or with parental supervision.
- Never enter someone’s home.
- Never carry large amounts of cash.
- Sell to people you know first- friends, family and neighbors.
- Know why your organization is fundraising and tell people why when you ask them for their support.
- Be proud of your organization.
- Protect chocolate from heat.
- Be cheerful, courteous and smile.
- Always thank people whether they buy or not.
